Most Christians would not admit to a death wish for Jesus Christ. The chief priests and the teachers would not admit wanting to kill the Savior of the world, but they definitely wanted Him dead.  It was not the nice guy who was doing miraculous good things for people they wanted put to death; it was the authoritative Lordship of Jesus Christ that rubbed them wrongly enough to cause them to want Him crucified.

It would pay every Christian to admit once and for all that our flesh does not like to surrender to authority. The most mature Christian in the most sheltered spiritual environment has rebellious flesh that is looking for a way to silence Jesus.  Christians do not put Him to death literally, but they often put Him to death figuratively by ignoring His commands, by ignoring His Word, and by giving place to fleshly desires.  Jesus already died, and now He deserves to live His life through you.  Stop looking for sly ways to arrest and silence your Lord.  Make a death wish for your flesh.
