Many unanswered questions plague the modern world in which we live. Who will be president of the United States for the next four years. When and where is the next hurricane going to make land fall? When and where will the next terrorist attack occur? When will there be another earthquake, and who will be affected? Will Iraq’s new government work? What actually happened to Bin Laden? Will Iran require military action in effort to defuse their efforts to create and use nuclear weapons?
With all of these uncertainties in the proverbial air, I am glad that there is a certainty that need not be questioned. God is still on His throne. Nothing has taken Him by surprise, and it is good to be one of His children during these modern-day perilous times.
To be reminded of God’s ability to control every situation to work for His purposes (Rom. 8:28), remember a few questions that God asked of Job in the 38th chapter of the book of Job.
- Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? …
- Who determined its measurements? …
- To what were its foundations fastened? …
- Or who shut in the seas with doors, …
- When I fixed my limits for it, …
- When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And
here your proud waves must stop!'(nkjv)
This is only a minute sampling of God’s power. So be anxious for nothing (Phil. 4:6), and let your Heavenly Father sort out all of the big questions. It is too much pressure and beyond our ability to manage the world. Once we have that monkey of gorilla like proportions off of our backs, then we can focus upon managing our lives to the Glory of The God who has it all under control.
